The member of House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson, has inaugurated a monthly free food distribution to the people.
Tagged GAJ Food 4 All Programme, it includes food items such as Semolina, Spaghetti, Noddles, and poundoyam for no fewer than 500 persons .
Inaugurating the programme in Isolo on Sunday, October 27, this year
Johnson said the programme would alleviate the suffering of the people in the constituency and hold monthly alternating between Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs.
“The programme is aimed at contributing in our little way to alleviating the suffering of our people in the Constituency in the area of food provisions. It would be done on monthly basis and would be rotated between the two Local Council Development Areas (LCDA’s), Isolo and Ejigbo, within our constituency.
“In the course of my campaign I promised to serve everyone irrespective of party affiliations and when I won the election by the grace of God, I maintained my position to be a representative of everyone residing in this constituency and to this end, what we are doing today is for everybody.
“It is for All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), members of all other political parties and those that are not partisan. Every resident of this great constituency would benefit from today’s event and the subsequent ones.
“The APC as a party has come on board with an agenda to improve the lives of the citizens of this great country and that is the agenda that we are working with.
“We want to leave a lasting legacy for our people, part of which is to give hope to our people. What you have seen here today is the beginning of what we have planned for our people and with the cooperation of all us, we would make Oshodi/Isolo constituency 2 one of the best constituencies in this State.”
Equally speaking, the wife of the Reps member, Mrs. Funke Johnson said the programme would continue to target the indigent people to support them at least once in a month with food items.
