41yr Old Woman In Custody Over Theft Of Inverters Worth N14M

One Helen Ugochukwu is facing prosecution for allegely stealing inverters in Ikorodu.
At the Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu where Ugochukwu was arraigned, Police Prosecutor, Adegeshin Famuyiwa, said that the suspect obtained 50 pieces of inverters valuing the amount alongside the cash sum of N200,000 from athe complainant, Victoria Owolabi and unlawfully converted same to her own use.
Famuyiwa, while stating that the defendant committed the offence on January 19, at about 9:30 a.m. at the Allison Market area of Ikorodu added that she is standing trial on a two-count charge of conversion and stealing, which she pleaded not guilty to.
The Prosecution further mentioned that the offences contravened the provisions of Section 314 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The court granted the Ugochukwu bail in the sum of two million naira with two sureties in like sum and ordered that the addresses of the sureties must be verified.
The case was adjourned till April 30.
