32yr Old Man In Custody For Stealing Mother’s N1.8m Properties

One Oluwafemi  Adeoti is facing prosecution over allegations of stealing his mother’s properties in the value of N1,800,000 and threat to life.

Adeoti was on trial at the Magistrates’ Court in Badagry on Monday where the Police Prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, mentioned that he stole one gas cylinder, generator sets, Plasma TV, cooker and one tipper of sand, all valuing the amount and belongings of his mother and complainant, Sijuwade.

Ekpo said that the defendant who is on trial on charges of stealing, breach of peace and threat to life which he pleaded guilty to committed the offence in Aiyetoro area of Badagry, thus, contravening the laws of the state.

The Policeman added that the defendant also transferred the sum of N20,000 from Sijuwade’s bank account application through her phone and also threatened to kill her but was later caught and handed to the police.

Ekpo added that the alleged offences contravened the provisions of Sections 15,168 and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

The Presiding Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, granted Adeoti bail in the sum of N1 million and ordered a condition of two sureties out of which one of them must be a community leader.

The litigant is billed for re-arraignment on May 21.
