Youths are nation builders but incapacitated by the elderly ones – Ustadh Oyebo

Despite being energetic and ready to render efforts in building the nation, the Nigerian youths are said to have been incapacitated by the elderly ones at the helms of affair.

Speaking at the inaugural Ramadan lecture of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ejigbo LCDA branch held at Adejumo Tennis Club playing ground Ilamoshe Estate, Oke-Afa, Ejigbo recently, the Guest Lecturer, Ustadh Semiu Adeyinka, Oyebo said the youths could change the whole country for better if given the chance.

The clergy man, whose lecture bordered on the theme, “The Vanguards of Change: Roles and Challenges”, said that the role of the youths in every society are very crucial to the social-economic development of every nation.

He said that a nation cannot be built without building the youths of that nation as he charged the government to empower and encourage the youths to take leadership positions.

He hinted that the youths as a vanguard could think alike and strive to achieve common goals. He however charged the youths to be up and doing to achieve the changes required by the country.

The Co-ordinator of NYCN Ejigbo LCDA, Comr. Idris Akinsanya, said that Lecture was organized to sensitize the youths on their roles in building the nation and to challenge them to take active and leadership role in politics.

He added that it was also aimed at the elder ones in leadership positions to allow the youths to take charge of the affairs.

The occasion was graced by  Chief Imam of Olorun ni O jogun Aye Central Mosque, Ilamoshe, Alhaji Muritadhor  Ahmad; the Leader, legislative arm, Ejigbo LCDA, Hon Olanrewaju Akinbowale and other members of the community.
