Xmas decor selling fast at Arena, Oshodi markets

Residents of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area have been going out in numbers to buy kids festival toys, dolls as well as Xmas interior and exterior decoration items to beautify homes, schools, churches, mosques and office environments in the local community markets to give these places new look in anticipation of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

As patronages increases for the Christmas/New Year decorations, many traders have now diversified to the business as the major markets in Oshodi-Isolo have started witnessing influx of such goods.

It is an annual event as many people try to beautify their homes, churches and working environment ahead of the New Year which heralds the coming of new hopes, planning and preparations.

This period of the year always characterised blowing of knockouts; however, ECHONEWS observed that the rate of blowing knockouts has reduced drastically this year.

This may be due to state of economy being witnessed in the country and or the warning by the government against the blowing of the explosive substance in the society which causes shocks and unexpected deaths.

Some people also noted that the reduction might also due to the closure of borders, hindering the importation of the products into the country.

Meanwhile, ECHONEWS observed that some organisations such as banks, hotels, eateries and others have been decorating their buildings especially entrances with Xmas lights, Xmas trees, flowers and all that to attract their customers.

It was gathered that some of the Xmas decoration items cost between N5,000 and N10,000 based on the quality and designs.
