U20 Women’s World Cup: Aduku Declares Falconets Fired Up For England Clash

Nigeria U20 women’s national team head coach, Moses Aduku has inspired the Falconets to be charged up for their round of 16 tie against England at the Stadion Miejski Bielsko-Biała, Poland.

The Falconets will engage the Young Lionesses in the knockout stage having qualified from the group stage in second place behind eventual table toppers, Spain in Group F with four points.

Aduku admitted the game will test the strength and capability of the Falconets who are the only African team remaining in the competition while others were ousted in the group stage.

The former Nigeria international believes that, any team that desires to be champions must fear no foe and must be determined to win tough games.

“It’s going to be a tough test. If you want to be crowned champions, you’ve got to win every game. We’re ready for the challenge,” Aduku said.

The previous meeting begins Nigeria and England at the FIFA U20 Women’s World saw the Falconets defeating the Young Lionesses 2-1 at the 2014 edition in the group stage.

Nikita Parris gave England the lead before Nigeria rallied back to score two goals through Loveth Ayila and a penalty from Asisat Oshoala.

The other two times that both sides met ended in 1-1 (2008, 2010) edition.
