Tinubu Back In Lagos After 30-Day Vacation In Europe

President Bola Tinubu arrives Lagos Tuesday evening, ending his 30-day working vacation in Europe.

The President touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja aboard the presidential jet from Paris at about 8:40pm

He was received by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, members of the State Executive Council and party leaders.

His return was confirmed earlier in the day by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said the President had concluded his annual leave.

Tinubu had departed Abuja on August 30 for London and Paris on what the Presidency described as a working vacation.

The trip, initially scheduled for three weeks, was extended by one week.

While abroad, the President met with French President Emmanuel Macron, held talks with French business mogul Vincent Bollore and First HoldCo Chairman, Femi Otedola, and witnessed the signing of a $7 billion MoU between Ogun State Government and DP World for a deep seaport and economic zone.

The Presidency said the President opted to return through Lagos to participate in activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

President Tinubu is scheduled to deliver his Independence Day broadcast on Wed, October 1, and attend the world premiere of a film honouring the late Chief Moshood Abiola at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, Iganmu, Ogun State.

According to the Presidency, he will remain in Lagos for a few days for strategic political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections before returning to Abuja.
