The NWFL Premiership Super 6 held sway at Benin city, Edo state as Bayelsa Queens emerged champions of the tourney which was held to determine the champions of the elite women league in Nigeria and who will represent the Nigeria at the CAF Women Champions League.

On loan FC Robo Queens player to Bayelsa Queens, Gift Monday scooped 3 out of the 4 individual awards on display because of her great performance in the NWFL Premiership Super 6.

Monday, who only had 3 goals in the regular season before going into the Super 6, scored 9 goals in 5 games in the super 6 and a total of 12 goals all through the season to emerge as the Queen of goals in the league. She went home with the MVP award, highest goal scorer award and player of the match award as she became the most talked about player in the NWFL Premiership Super 6.

Speaking to ECHONEWS, Gift Monday said she didn’t believe that she could emerge the highest goal scorer going into the Super 6 but her teammates and private training session made her achieve success.

“I didn’t believe I could emerge as the highest goal scorer of the league, because I only had 3 goals to my name going into the Super 6 but hard work, my teammates cooperation and private training sessions made me to be able to achieve success.

“Honestly, I’m very happy and to my fans, my coaches Emmanuel Osahon, Moses Aduku and all the Bayelsa Queens coaching crew, Bayelsa Queens chairman and all the players, I really appreciate them for making me achieve success in the NWFL Premiership Super 6, I’m grateful and to all my fans also, I appreciate you all for your constant support always.”
