The Chairman of of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye (Shammeh) has charged each department and unit to think outside the box and strengthen their ability towards generating more funds.
At a budget forum recently, the council boss said the local government needs to expand its revenue generation to be able to execute many of its projects, urging those departments and offices that have not worked up to the expectation to buckle up in the year 2020.
On his part, the chairman promised that all offices within the secretariat and outside the secretariat would be renovated to the standard while needed facilities would be provided for the workers in their various offices to encourage them to work harder.
However, Olaleye lamented that the council was not generating enough revenue from transportation sector especially from the Okada operation due to restriction of the operation in some major areas in the community.
According to him, okada operators have been totally banned to operate in Ajao Estate while indiscriminate arrest of okada by the police has reduced the number of those operating in the community thereby reducing the revenue that could be generated from them by the local government.
