Sanwo-Olu Expects Exciting 2026 Commonwealth Fencing Championship In Lagos

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is optimistic that the 2026 Commonwealth Fencing Championships will produce exciting moments for the participants and enthusiasts.

The Commonwealth Fencing Championship will be held at the Rugby School in Eko Atlantic City.

The governor said the gathering of competitors from across the Commonwealth in Lagos highlighted the values of the sport.

“I declared open the 2026 Commonwealth Fencing Championships at Rugby School, Eko Atlantic City,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“It is really good to see athletes from across the Commonwealth come together in Lagos to compete and showcase the discipline and skill that fencing demands.

“We are proud to welcome the fencing community to Lagos and look forward to an exciting championship.”

The championships bring together fencers from Commonwealth nations to compete in the sport’s various disciplines at the Eko Atlantic venue.
