Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has described the tenure of the newly- elected chairmen as the “dawn of a new era”.

Addressing them after they were sworn in at a festive ceremony at the Lagos House, the office of the governor, Sanwo-Olu thanked the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for organising a free and fair election that enabled Lagosians to cast their vote.

He said the victory recorded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas has shown that “APC is Lagos, Lagos is APC.”

Announcing the plan of the administration to organise a retreat to develop strategies for effective service delivery at local government, the governor urged the chairmen to carry everyone along by rendering service to the people.

“This is not the time to be partisan, this is not the time to say this person did not vote for me,” he said.

Earlier, the chairmen assured the governor of their support and loyalty affirming their commitment to work with him to implement the THEMES agenda.

They spoke through the chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Olusesan Daini.
