Sahara Power Breaks Ground on $12 Million Gas Plant To Boost Supply In Ogba

Sahara Power has started construction of $12 million gas-fired power plant in Lagos that is expected to ease electricity shortages for businesses and residents in and around Ogba.

The facility, which will generate power using natural gas. Officials say the plant is designed to deliver a more reliable and stable supply to commercial and residential areas that have long struggled with erratic service from the national grid.

The development comes at a time when many small and medium-sized enterprises in the densely populated Ogba axis continue to rely heavily on expensive diesel generators to keep operations running.
