His Excellency Governor Akinwunmi Ambode officially commissioned the safety Arena in Bolade Oshodi yesterday.
He said that the arena has been established to ensure prompt response to any emergency in any part of the state and also reiterated his commitments to develop every part of the state.
During his inspection of the facilities alongside with Lagos state officials, he thanked Lagosians for their support to his administration. In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Special
Duties and Inter Governmental Relations, Mr. Oluseye Oladapo described the safety Arena as one of its kind in Nigeria where all the safety agencies would be accommodated in a spot for quick response to any emergency.
He appreciated Ambode for his relentless effort in ensuring that the safety and security of Lagosians are paramount in his administration. He further described Ambode as a man who is always dreaming for the best of Lagos state by quoting Nelson Mandela, saying “the winner is
the man who never stops dreaming”.
To this, he informed the public that the second phase of safety Arena in Ijanikin and Badagry has been commissioned. The safety Arena house comprises of the following agencies -fire
service, LASEMBUS, LASEMA, FRSC, NSDC, LSNC, LEGION.
The general manager of LASEMA, Adeshina Toareed applauded the vision and determination of ensuring security and safety in Lagos state during governor’s inspection.
The ceremony was attended by the Lagos state officials,state legislators party loyalist among others.
