The release of the list of secretaries to the local governments, supervisors and special advisers last Thursday is still causing ripples across the state as successful nominees celebrate while those who could not make it rue their fate.
Promptly, a few local governments swung into action by pushing through the traditional conventions- presentation before the Legislative Arm comprising councilors for clearance and inauguration and assignment of portfolios-in a jiffy.
Isolo becomes first council to inaugurate exco
Isolo LCDA, chaired by Otunba Adebayo Olasoju sworn his officers into office 24 hours after.
His appointments include Hon. Sikiru Adesina, popularly known as Current, (Secretary to the Local Government), Hon. Adeolu Ikugbayigbe, (Supervisor, Education);Hon. Balikis Agbabiaka, (Supervisor, Environment; Apostle Moses Oluwole, (Special Adviser, Information); Mr. Yussuf Oni,(Supervisor, Youth & Sports); Hon. Olamide Taiwo,( Supervisor, Agriculture & Community Development); Hon. Tunde Raji (Supervisor, Revenue); Hon.Jamiu Adetayo Omotayo,(Supervisor, Works & Infrastructure); Hon. Sylvester Obi, (Special Adviser, Ethics); Hon. Wasiu Durojaiye, (Supervisor, Special Duties) and Hon. Abiola Ayinde -Marshall, (Special Assistant to the Chairman’s Office).
Speaking to Echonews, the new Secretary to the Local Government, Adesina said he was very happy when he heard the news of his nomination.
He promised to work in harmony with other members of the executive council to serve the residents.
The local government secretariats across the state are expected to be agog with celebrations next week as the council chairmen announce their inauguration plans.
