Party yet to review Remy’s suspension- Bello
By Damilola Kushimo
All Progressives Congress chairman in Isolo Local Council Development Area, Barrister Gani Bello has said plans to review the suspension of Legislative Arm leader Hon. Remy Shittu Remy are still on hold.
Remy was suspended indefinitely by the party due to his action against some other four councillors and alleged disregard for the party’s directive.
Speaking to ECHONEWS on the matter, the APC Chairman, Barr. Gani Bello said the party has not sat to discuss the matter and decide whether he should be recalled or not.
Although Remy had defended the decision of the House to suspend the two principal councillors and sanction two others, Bello faulted his action of the leader of the House, stressing that it was ‘most flimsy and unreasonable.’
However, following the intervention of the State House of Assembly, development in recent days show that the crisis among the councillors has been resolved as those suspended have been recalled while the council budget, which was seen as the bone of contention, has been re-presented by the council chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye as directed by the State House of Assembly.
Although, a source close to the party confirmed that Remy had shown remorse to the misconduct but Bello, when asked about it, refused to comment on it, saying: “No comment in that regard.”
