As workers were celebrated worldwide, the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has recognized some workers at the grassroots, who have positively created footprints in becoming pacesetters for others to follow as well as got to the peak in their services to the people of the grassroots, with awards of merit.
This was done to appreciate their impacts on the on the development and their efforts towards promoting effective performance at the local councils within the state, just as the Union celebrated its 40th edition of biennial ceremony.
One of the recipients of the awards, the Head of Administration, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Folayemi Ogunyemi, who was presented the award of Workers Friendly Head of Administration stated that the award coming to Ejigbo LCDA indicated that the efforts of providing an acceptable government to the people of Ejigbo has not gone unnoticed, noting that there is room for improvement for more satisfactory remark by the people of the community.

Unveiling the award at the NULGE @ 40 felicitation held recently at the council Secretariat, Iyana Ejigbo, Ogunyemi said that the workforce rendered by all officers at the Secretariat has made it possible for such an honour given to her and the council.
She therefore admonished all other staff members of the Secretariat to always work zealously not only to earn more accolades to the council but also to improve the services rendered to the people of Ejigbo.
“I’m happy to announce to you that with your [the LCDA] support and the support of the Almighty God, on the 3rd day of the exercise [worker’s day], I was presented this beautiful awards.

“I wasn’t expecting the award. When I received it, I was filled with joy. With that, I want to appreciate everyone. I hereby dedicate this award to my Constituency here in Ejigbo, the Executive Chairman and people of Ejigbo LCDA.”
Ogunyemi made a clarion call to all the workers in the LCDA to continue providing a credible service to the people of Ejigbo so as to promote the effectiveness of NULGE in the quest to serve the people of the community.
