Obe urges AWAN to have branch at grassroots

The Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Monsuru Bello (Obe), has urged the Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria (AWAN) to have its branches at the grassroots to be able to be abreast of the local council’s activities, policies and directions.

Obe said this while receiving a six-man delegate of the association during its courtesy visit on Friday.

The council chairman said the local branch of the association will handle the policies, directions and vision of the association most importantly at the grassroots level.

He tasked all the residents of Ejigbo to continue to remain courteous for persistent development and unity of the community.

The national President of AWAN, Alhaji Muhammed Olagbaye, said the visitation was made to fulfill part of their obligations in catering for indigenous people of Awori Lands in Lagos State, Ogun State as well as in the diaspora.

Olagbaye disclosed that he has from inception perceived that the council is made up of well cultured staff which indicates their synergy and cooperation with the administration of Obe.

He appreciated the achievements of Obe both in his previous tenure and present, saying his legacy is worth looking up to as a leader.

He further charged the Oba, community residents and all the people of Ejigbo to cooperate with the council chairman on the development of the community.
