A Lagos Chief Magistrate Court has remanded a prominent figure in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ganiyu Oyedepo, known as Koko-Zaria, for allegedly assaulting Nollywood actor Lawori.

Oyedepo, who pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, was accused of orchestrating the attack on Lawori in June 2024.

According to police reports, the assault resulted in Lawori sustaining head injuries.

The court granted Oyedepo bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties, who must meet strict conditions including providing proof of address, means of livelihood, and tax payments.

However, Oyedepo remained in custody pending the fulfillment of these bail terms. The case has been adjourned to October 29 for further hearing.
