NPFL: Sporting Lagos Earns Bragging Right In Lagos Derby Against Inter Lagos

Sporting Lagos thrashed Inter Lagos in the mouthwatering Lagos derby at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

The Noisy Lagosians crushed the Pride of Lagos 3-0 in what brings back memories of the Lagos derby after a decade absence. The previous Lagos derby took place at the Agege Stadium, where MFM FC defeated Ikorodu United 3-1 on July 23, 2016.

Sodiq Ayoade got Sporting Lagos to a flying start in the Lagos derby with a thumping header in the 8th minute.

Inter Lagos had the opportunity to bring both sides on level terms in the 21st minute from the penalty spot but his effort was missed.

A minute off the half time break, midfield maestro, Haruna Hadi ferocious shot hit the bar as the Noisy Lagosians stamped their dominance in the Lagos derby.

Aliyu Baba combination with Victor Samuel paved way in the 60th minute as both players complemented each other to double Sporting Lagos lead in the second half.

Valentine Ugwu introduction in the second half proves to be a good tactical move as he sealed an emphasis win for the Noisy Lagosians in the 90th minute.
