A non-governmental organization, Make Mee Elegant, based in Abule Egba, in conjunction with Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, has empowered some selected children within the local government area with a day skill acquisition training program.

The Director of the NGO, Mrs. Kehinde Okorafor, said the purpose of the empowerment skill training was to help some of those children who cannot afford basic education to have craft skill instead, which can make them survive anywhere in the world.

“It’s a pity that some of our children are roaming the streets doing nothing due to lack of basic amenities and education which exposes them to danger. I believe with skill acquisition and empowerment support, our country would be great.”

The Supervisor for Education, Hon. Mejindade, who represented the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh at the event advised the children to make use of the opportunity to do more practices at home to perfect their skills as what is worth doing, is worth doing well.

The Director of ‘Out of School Empowerment Foundation’, Mr. Akeem Kelani thanked the organizers of the program, hoping that more organizations would join the course of putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged children.
