The Lagos Neighbourhood Watch, Oshodi branch has advised the residents to be vigilant on the movement of strangers into the community, noting that some miscreants sneaked in unaware.
Speaking during a dialogue with the Community Development Committee (CDC) on issues affecting the community, the Neighbourhood Watch Intelligent Officer who simply gave his name as Awolowo addressed the CDC members on the need to be security conscious regarding invasion of strangers noticed in the community.
These strangers are said to have entered the community through cow delivery with trucks that transported them into the environment as detected during the course of their duty.
He advised the community leaders to be watchful, screen people before accepting them as tenants, check bike riders to ascertain their identities before mounting and to always speak out when anything strange is noticed by contacting the neighborhood watch officers.
At the meeting, the chairman of Old Ewu-Ogunyinka Community Development Association, Elder Ogunyinka also notified the CDC executives to inform the local government to extend the drainage clearing to Old Ewu canal which has been a threat to the community during rainy season.
