Marylene Essien is a player that any club would appreciate being in their team because of her playing prowess and ability to play in any role assigned to her.
The once U17 invitee started her career with Pelican Stars before moving to Ibom Angels, starred for Delta Queens and FC Robo Queens and have made an instant impactful presence in the first team of Rivers Angels after making a move to the club at the last transfer window.
Marylene Essien who have the ability of playing anywhere in the attacking line and can also effectively play at the left back position is known for her blistering pace, dribbling skills and power to withstand any opponent who dares enter her den.
Since making the big move to Rivers Angels, the Cross River born player made her debut for the club in NWFL Premiership match against Osun Babes in Port-Harcourt, where Rivers Angels won the game 2-1.
Essien blistering pace was a problem for Osun Babes to deal with in the game as her overlapping skills pegged the Osun Babes attackers to their own half in the game.
The tall lanky player also have great crosses that can torment any defense line.
Speaking to ECHONEWS, Marylene Essien said she’s happy to be at Rivers Angels and she’s there to prove her mark as one of the best players in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
She added that, she’s highly motivated and ready to win laurels with Rivers Angels.
Marylene Essien is definitely one of the players to watch out for this season.
