Magistrate Remands Man Over Theft

The Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu has remanded one Lekan Adesanya over allegations of stealing house appliances worth N208,000.

Adesanya is facing trial on one-count charge of stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

However, Police Prosecutor, Inspector Adegesin Famuyiwa, stated at the courthouse that the accused commited the act on January 20 at n0 10, Alade Gbeyemi Street, in Ijede, Ikorodu.

Adegesin mentioned that Adesanya, 27, broke into an apartment and stole a 32 inches Television Set valued N140,000, a cooking gas cylinder worth N23,000.

Other stolen items include a Glass table worth N25,000 and clothes costing N20,000, all belonging to the complainant – one Sherif Ifesanya, as uttered by the Prosecutor.

Adegesin continued by mentioning that the alleged offence contravened Sections 308 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The court admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The suspect will be re-arraigned on February 27.
