Lawmaker Commends Sanwo-Olu On Approval Of BRT Busses In Badagry

Member at the Lagos State House of Assembly, LAHA, Hon. Solomon Bonu has lauded the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving BRT busses in Badagry.

Bonu, who represents Badagry Constituecy 01 at the existing 10th Legislative Assembly in the state said that the BRT busses plying the area will ease mobility and also create job opportunities.

The lawmaker, while inspecting the BRT Terminal alongside officials of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), disclosed that transportation between Badagry and Mile 2 axis will eased.

He said, “Many sons and daughters of Badagry who are professionals will be giving jobs while other people will also market their products at their bus stops within Badagry.

“I am happy today because we are bringing BRT buses to Badagry axis, now that one portion of the expressway has been completed.

“When I approached the Speaker of LAHA, Mr Mudasiru Obasa and LAMATA management, they graciously approved it”, he continued.

“In 2023, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved 50 per cent palliative for all BRT buses plying Lagos road, unfortunately people of Badagry did not benefit from this palliatives because BRT is not plying our roads.

“But now, from Mile 2 to Badagry, Okoko to Badagry and from Badagry to Seme, buses will be available for our people going and coming,” he said.

Sources revealed that on May 29, the BRT buses would be launched in the community as 10 buses would be deployed to for transportation. In addition, five medium capacity buses will be added in June.

Bonu urged the people of Badagry to see the project as theirs, adding that they should protect them in time of crisis.
