LASUSTECH Secures Full Accreditation for Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has received full professional accreditation from the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) to offer a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Insurance.

This landmark achievement follows a series of visits by regulatory and professional bodies to the institution in late 2024 to assess the facilities available for its various programs. According to a statement released by the LASUSTECH management, this is the first result of the comprehensive accreditation exercise conducted for 25 programs between November and December 2024 by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other professional bodies.

The CIIN accreditation certificate, presented to the university, confirms the program’s approval and is valid for two years, from November 2024 to August 2026, after which it will require renewal.

The university’s Vice Chancellor expressed delight over the development, describing it as a testament to the investments made by the Lagos State Government and the dedication of the university’s governing council and staff.

“This accreditation marks a significant milestone and underscores the quality of education we are committed to providing. It is the first fruit of our collective efforts and will pave the way for more achievements in the future,” the statement read.
