Lagos NYSC kick Off 3rd Quarter Health Initiative In Ibeju-Lekki

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State yesterday flagged off its 3rd Quarter Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) at Ibeju-Lekki Health Center.

The program began with a health sensitization that was aimed at educating the community about basic health practices and the importance of seeking medical care.

In an opening remark,during the flag-off, the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa who was represented by the Assistant Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Ehinwenma Itohan, highlights the purpose of the HIRD program. She described it as a free health care services and medical outreach designed to give back to the society.

She expressed that the initiative complements the efforts of the three tiers of government in their efforts at delivering quality health care services to the rural populace. She enjoys the people of Ibeju-Lekki to continue to support and accommodate the corps members by providing a conducive environment for them to enable them give of their best.

Representing the Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Egnr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa was, Dr. Modupe Agbonmelo who praised the NYSC for organizing the outreach, highlighting its positive impact on the community by providing much-needed medical services.

Distinguished guests at the event Alhaja Mobi Raji, the community women leader and Alhaji Onibeju Wasiu, the Education Secretary of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government praises and commends the corps member and Lagos state for the Free Health innitiative.
