The Lagos chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) is grieving the loss of its Organising Secretary, Toba Ajiboye, who has died from injuries sustained in a deadly gun attack by unidentified assailants.
Ajiboye reportedly succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds after the attack, sending shockwaves through the state’s transport community and renewing concerns over the safety of union officials. Security agencies have since launched an investigation and are pursuing those responsible for the killing.
Widely regarded as a dedicated union leader, Ajiboye played a key role in coordinating transport operations and supporting community security efforts across parts of Lagos.
