The Lagos State Government, through its Examinations Board, has commenced the electronic registration and payment process for the Year 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The registration, which began on Monday, January 27, is scheduled to close on Friday, April 26, 2025.

According to the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, the introduction of the e-Registration system aligns with the state’s policy of ensuring a seamless and stress-free registration process.

He emphasized that school proprietors are no longer required to visit the board’s office physically, as all processes can now be completed online.

Mr. Orunsolu explained that Public Junior Secondary Schools must download the Offline Data Capturing Application via https://bece.examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng to facilitate registration.

Similarly, Approved Private Junior Secondary Schools, Schools with Special Permission, and Continuing Education Centers (CEC) should visit https://pay.examsboard.com.ng to complete payment and generate login credentials.

He further stated that the registration fee for Approved Private Junior Secondary Schools and approved Public CECs is ₦6,000, while Schools with Special Permission and Private CECs are required to pay ₦9,500.

Additionally, the Director advised schools with candidates who have special needs, such as visual impairments or albinism, to formally notify the board in advance. This, he noted, would enable adequate preparations to accommodate such candidates during the examination.

Mr. Orunsolu urged all schools to strictly adhere to the payment and registration guidelines to avoid any penalties for late registration.

He assured that further details regarding the process would be communicated through designated Zonal Officers.
