The Lagos State Judiciary has created additional Probate Registries in three judicial divisions in the state.

As revealed by the Chief Judge, CJ, of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, the newly established registries are located in the Badagry, Epe, and Ikorodu.

Alogba said that the new measure in accordance with Section 51(1) of the High Court Law of Lagos State 2015, has commenced operations for the processing of Letters of Administration, Grant of Probate, lodgment of Wills, and other related probate matters.

The CJ stated that the notice clarifies that pending applications for Letters of Administration, Grant of Probate, lodgment of Wills, and other probate matters in the Ikeja and Lagos Divisions will continue to be handled in their respective divisions.

According to reports, the establishment of the Probate Registries is expected to reduce the burden on the existing registries in Ikeja and Lagos Divisions in ensuring efficient, accessible judicial system in the area.

Furthermore, the initiative will propel an improved streamlining of processes in handling probate matters for residents in the areas.
