Lagos Assembly Passes N3 Trillion Budget For Year 2025

Members of the Lagos House of Assembly have approved the proposed N3 trillion budget in the state for year 2025.

The lawmakers, in a plenary on Monday, passed the budget in sum of N3,366,815,224,144 which was earlier presented by the Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in November 2024.

The lawmakers disclosed that the sum of N1,295,630,197,452 has been allocated for recurrent expenditure while N2,071,185,026,692 will cater for capital expenditure for the year.

Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, directed the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, to transmit a clean copy of the passed bill to Governor Sanwo-Olu for assent.

Also during the plenary, the legislators also passed a bill to consolidate all laws on local government administration in the state.

According to the legislative house, the bill will further make provisions based on constitutional amendments as well as amendments by the National Assembly which have direct effects on the local governments in Lagos State.
