KC Luxury Sues NDLEA, Demands N190m Over Arrest, Detention

Lagos socialite Afolabi Kazeem, popularly known as KC Luxury, has dragged the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) before the Federal High Court, demanding N190 million in damages over his arrest and continued detention.

KC Luxury is also asking the court to order his release or grant him bail while challenging the legality of his continued detention by the anti-drug agency.

EchoNews recalls that the socialite was arrested by NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on August 13, 2026, while reportedly preparing to travel to Paris.

His arrest came after the agency seized 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine from a courier company in Lagos.

Following the arrest, NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) alleged that KC Luxury was attempting to flee the country.

“This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily; he intended to flee the country on a business-class flight to Paris,” the NDLEA chairman said.

KC Luxury has now approached the court to challenge his detention, seeking N190 million in damages against the agency.

In addition to the monetary compensation, he is asking the court to grant him bail or order the NDLEA to release him from custody.

The suit comes amid the ongoing investigation into the seized cocaine consignment and allegations linking the socialite to the shipment.

KC Luxury has not been convicted of any offence and remains entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a court.
