Orile-Agege LCDA has been reported to have restored the long-abandoned Primary Healthcare centre in the council area.
The healthcare establishment is said to have been abandoned for over 10 ten years.
Speaking to ECHONEWS, a medical officer at the centre who preferred anonymity narrated that the council chairman, Hon. Babatunde Johnson had revived the centre.
The source said over time, people began trooping to try out the efficiency of the officials before they became convinced of the full operation of the centre which automatically gave rise to house-to-house publicity of the re-opening of the centre by residents themselves.
She said then they engaged in activities like community sensitization on the outbreak of Monkeypox, immunization outreach to communities, sensitization on World Blood Donor Day, and mass administration of anti-helminthics to children under 15 years in schools among others.
Aside from that, a free health screening for staff members of Orile-Agege LCDA was carried out and intensive training of health workers on Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy was done to ensure their credibility.
A full renovation and equipment of the Powerline Health Center with facilities to cater for the health of all residents have also been made available.
Specifically, the centre is open for lLabour and Delivery services for all the residents.
