Jakande Estate residents urge road users to obey traffic laws

By Felix Kuyinu

A call has been made by the residents of Jakande Estate, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to all motorists and trycyclitsts to abide by the road traffic laws in order to prevent occurrence of road accident as well as ensuring smooth flow of traffic in the area.

The residents made the call after the motorists and trycyclitsts plying the area were said to have ignored the use of traffic light directives at Iyana Isheri and Junction areas in the community.

The road users were also alleged to be of ‘bad conduct’ when driving around the areas, an assertion based on driving at unacceptable speed, according to the residents.

The residents stated that the ghastly road accident which occurred at Isheri Osun some few days ago, a location close to Iyana Isheri, was as a result if noncompliance with the traffic light.

To curb the situation, the residents urged the authority of Ejigbo LCDA to caution against disobeying traffic laws, seeking tougher sanction on any disobedience in order to mitigate accident rate on the road.
