A 35-year old woman, Faith Udora has appealed to the Ejigbo customary court to dissolve her 11 years marriage with her husband, Mr. Benjamin Udora, complaining before the court that she has suffered much in her marriage.
She said the problem started just the second year into the marriage which was contracted in 2009 when her husband started getting involved in fetish, seeking power for protection which caused him little metal disorder.
She explained that her husband usually accused her of bringing him bad luck and that she was planning to kill him.
She also alleged that her husband physically assaulted her, adding that he did not relate with her as husband during the period they were together.
She claimed that they both lived together under the same roof as husband and wife for only three year and that they have been living separately since April 1, 2012 with the a pregnancy of their last born while the second born was about one year.
“We have three children, the first born is a girl and now 9 years old; the second born is a boy – 8 years and the last born whom I gave birth to after our separation is now 7 years old.
“I separated with my husband in Ibadan and left for Lagos to stay with my parents, where I gave birth to the third child. My parents and I have been taking care of the children since then.
The first child is with her father in Ibadan and the father has not seen the last son since I born him 7 years ago. So, I want a legal divorce between us so that each of us can go our separate ways,” she appealed to the court.
However, the respondent was not in Court as he failed to show up after being contacted in Ibadan.
The President of the Customary Court therefore adjourned the case till Tuesday, February 4, 2020 for final judgement.
