One of the aspirants for the chairmanship position in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Sikiru Adeshina Salisu, has disclosed the reason for his withdrawal from the race to support one of his opponents, Hon. Bayo Olasoju.

Salisu, popularly known as Current, said his withdrawal was influenced by the appeals to do so, emphasising that he withdrew from the race in the interest of the party and as a result of his consultations and appeals from some elders in the party.

He said he has pitched tent with the incumbent Vice Chairman of the council, Olasoju, who is also contesting for the position, saying he would continue to work for his (Olasoju’s) success.

He confirmed to ECHONEWS that he has merged his own campaign structure – current campaign organisation with the Olasoju campaign group – Ilerioluwa 2021 in order to work together for Olasoju’s success in the forthcoming election.

He further revealed that he has been appointed as the Director of Finance and Mobilisation of Olasoju’s campaign outfit.

“Yes, I have stepped down from the race in support of Otunba Bayo Olasoju in the interest of the party and its supremacy. I have confidence in the capabilities of Olasoju and I believe he will be democratic in his government when elected. I want to use this opportunity to appeal to my supporters across all wards and other electorate as well as other aspirants and leaders in Isolo LCDA to support the Hon. Adebayo Olasoju for a greater Isolo LCDA,” he said.
