Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club Promotes Healthy Living for Elderly with Nutrition Workshop

As part of its commitment to community development, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club hosted a program titled “Teach the Elderly About a Balanced Diet” on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Federal Low-Cost Estate, Ikorodu North LCDA.

The initiative aimed to promote healthier living among elderly residents by equipping them with practical knowledge about nutrition and wellness.

The program, which saw a turnout of 80 participants, focused on the importance of maintaining a balanced diet to improve health and longevity.

Tailored dietary tips and strategies to address common health challenges in older adults were shared during the session.

Lion President Sanusi Amina led the event with an engaging lecture on the benefits of proper nutrition, emphasizing its role in enhancing overall health.

Her presentation resonated with attendees, providing actionable advice for sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

Additional contributions came from Lion Omoloye Halimat and Lion Dr. Adeyanju, who guided participants on creating affordable and nutritious meal plans for seniors.

They also highlighted the medical advantages of maintaining a balanced diet, offering expert recommendations to the elderly.

The event’s logistics were efficiently coordinated by Lion Aluko Kayode, the GST Chairperson, ensuring smooth execution.

Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Lions Club for prioritizing their well-being. Many noted the value of the knowledge gained, with some committing to implement the dietary changes recommended during the program.
