Hotelier remanded for bewitching his landlord

A 23-year-old man, Pascal Ikeh, a hotel manager, has been remanded in detention for allegedly casting spell over his landlord in order to defraud him of N450,000 house rent.

As gathered by Echonews, Ikeh 23, the manager of Golden Destiny Hotel at Awoniyi Elemo Street, Ajao Estate, put spell on the owner of the property, Israel Ojiekwe, in order to make him forget the property.

However, it was understood that Ikeh had managed the hotel for several months but failed to duly remit the rent to the landlord.

Fortunately, the landlord, who was liberated after several months, ordered for the arrest of Ikeh, which led to his subsequent arraignment before a magistrate court in Isolo, Lagos State on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

The prosecutor, Inspector Oje Uagbale, presented the substances of the bewitchment (a broom and other substances wrapped in a piece of red cloth) before the court.

He further revealed that the landlord had forgotten about the property outright, stressing on the effectiveness of the spell until he got liberated lately.

Ikeh, who pleaded not guilty of the two count charges of stealing and possession of charm, offenses punishable under sections 287 and 130 (c) of Lagos State Criminal law, 2015 was granted bail in the sum of N20,000 with sureties in like sum.

The magistrate, Hon. E. Telumo, adjourned the case till February 28, 2018 for further hearing.
