Former Ifako-Ijaiye LG Chairman,Toba Oke Passes Away

Special Apostle Oloruntoba Oke, a distinguished leader and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), passed away at the age of 65 after a long battle with diabetes.

Oke, who served as a two-term chairman of Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government in Lagos State, was remembered for his tireless efforts to develop and elevate the community he served.

Oke’s remarkable career began in media, where he worked for African Independent Television (AIT) and collaborated with renowned musician Sir Shina Peters during the ‘Asiko Youth’ era.

He eventually entered politics, focusing on improving Ifako/Ijaiye, and oversaw the construction of the council’s secretariat at Idiagbon Bus Stop, along College Road, Ogba.

News of his passing has left residents of Ifako/Ijaiye in shock and mourning the loss of a pivotal figure who contributed greatly to the area’s growth and progress.

Oke’s legacy as a dedicated leader, who prioritized the needs of his community, will continue to inspire those who carry on his work.
