Fire Razes Section of Ikorodu Ferry Terminal Building
A massive fire outbreak on Saturday gutted a section of the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal building located at Ebute–Iga, Ipakodo, in Ikorodu West LCDA, destroying properties worth several millions of naira.
The incident occurred at the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal, a major transportation hub within Ikorodu Division, and reportedly started from the bar section of the structure in the early hours of Saturday.
According to reports gathered at the scene, the affected section of the building housed offices, shops, and a relaxation lounge used by ferry operators and passengers.

Witnesses said the fire rapidly engulfed the right wing of the terminal building, completely razing the bar area and damaging several businesses and office spaces before emergency responders arrived.
However, swift intervention by firefighters helped contain the blaze and prevented it from spreading to other sections of the ferry terminal.
When reporters visited the scene on Saturday morning, workers and affected occupants were seen clearing debris and assessing the extent of the destruction.
Some shop owners and office occupants whose properties were affected were also present within the premises during the cleanup exercise.

Although no casualty had been officially reported as of the time of filing this report, the fire caused significant material losses.
The cause of the fire has yet to be officially confirmed by authorities.
The affected ferry terminal was reportedly undergoing renovation works before the incident, under the supervision of the Lagos State Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development.
The Ikorodu Ferry Terminal serves as one of the busiest water transportation points in Lagos, linking commuters from Ikorodu to several parts of the state through the waterways.
