FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup: Aduku Set Ambitious Target Against Spain

Nigeria U20 women’s national team head coach, Moses Aduku has aimed for a win against Spain at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Group F opener at the Arena Sosnoweic, Poland.

The Falconets enter the competition as one of the leading team in Africa and having a good run during the buildup for he tournament.

Aduku said the expectations against Spain is high and acknowledged their strengths while he believes getting a win in the game is non negotiable.

He revealed the game will be given the necessary preparation, attention like a Cup final because getting the three points at stake will steady their ship in the group phase.

“We are looking forward to the match against Spain with high expectations. We are ready and set to go. Spain is a good wide no doubt; let us not forget they are champions of the world at men’s senior level. However, we will approach the game like a Cup final because we want to win. The three points will put us in good stead in our group phase campaign,” Aduku was quoted by NFF.

The Falconets face Spain on Monday, September 7 at 4pm Nigeria time. The two-time runners-up of the tournament that began as an U19 competition in Canada in 2002, will then meet China on Thursday and New Caledonia on Sunday.
