The Chairman of Ejigbo Community Development Committee (CDC), Prince Jelili Atiku said the committee has distributed the N900,000 received as Christmas gift from the Lagos State Government to all the CDAs in the council area.
He added that the packs of food items donated by the Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson have also been distributed.
While giving the account of the gifts, Atiku explained that all the CDAs in Ejigbo got the amount from the N57million Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disbursed to all CDAs during the Community Day event held at the Police College, Ikeja.
The money, according to him, was the balance for Ejigbo after the deduction of the CDC debt by the government.
He also disclosed that Hon. Ganiyu Johnson gave the CDC some packs of food items from which each CDA whose chairman submitted passport photograph for the production of calendar received 100 packs for his community.
Meanwhile, the CDC chairman urged all CDAs to make more efforts in developing their communities, pledging that the CDC as the central body, would continue to give moral support to hardworking CDAs.
He charged them to make decisions and embark on projects which would not only benefit the community but also draw the attention of the government to assist them on major projects for the convenience of the community.
He, however, reminded them of the payment of state, local and CDA dues, stating that the council chairman and the publicity committee will soon carry out community tour and monitoring of all CDAs.
On behalf of all CDA chairmen, the representative of Tiwadire LCH CDA, Pastor A.O Oduntan, appreciated the Governor’s efforts of encouraging the CDAs, saying the token from the government is a symbolic recognition of their contribution towards the development.
