EFCC Recovers Over ₦1.23tn, Secures 10,872 Convictions In 34 Months — Olukoyede

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovered more than ₦1.23 trillion and secured 10,872 convictions between October 2023 and July 2026, the commission’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has disclosed.
Olukoyede made the disclosure on Monday, August 31, 2026, while presenting his stewardship report on the activities and achievements of the anti-graft agency during his 34 months in office.
According to the EFCC chairman, the commission recorded its highest-ever monetary asset recoveries in both naira and foreign currencies during the period under review.
Records presented by the commission showed that ₦1,233,612,040,411.11 was recovered in naira, while dollar recoveries stood at $684,478,457.32.
The figures represent the value of recoveries made by the commission as it intensified investigations and prosecutions of alleged financial crimes during Olukoyede’s tenure.
Beyond asset recovery, the EFCC also secured 10,872 convictions within the period, reflecting the commission’s increased focus on prosecuting individuals and entities accused of economic and financial crimes.
The development comes as the EFCC continues to pursue cases involving fraud, money laundering, cybercrime, corruption and other financial offences across the country.
Presenting the figures as part of his stewardship report, Olukoyede highlighted the recoveries and convictions as major indicators of the commission’s performance over his 34 months in office.
The EFCC has in recent years faced increasing pressure to demonstrate measurable results in the fight against corruption and financial crimes, particularly amid growing concerns over internet fraud, money laundering and the movement of illicit funds.
The latest figures therefore provide an insight into the scale of financial assets recovered and prosecutions concluded by the commission under its current leadership.
