COWLSO Opens Registration Portal for 26th National Women Conference
The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has officially opened its registration portal for participants seeking to attend the 26th National Women Conference.
According to information published on the committee’s website, the three-day conference is scheduled to hold from Tuesday, October 27, to Thursday, October 29, 2026.
However, COWLSO is yet to announce the official theme for this year’s conference, which is expected to be a significant event during the tenure of the current Chairperson and First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
The conference is expected to bring together women from different sectors and backgrounds for learning, networking, collaboration and discussions on issues affecting women, families and society.
The 26th edition is also expected to feature breakout sessions, discussion forums, interactive quizzes and live demonstrations designed to introduce participants to new ideas, innovations and practical solutions.
According to COWLSO, the programme is designed to stimulate meaningful conversations, encourage collaboration and inspire participants to make lasting contributions within their communities.
COWLSO was founded in 1974 by the late Mrs. Obafunmilayo Johnson, wife of the first Military Administrator of Lagos State. The organisation was revitalised in 2000 by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was then the First Lady of Lagos State, after years of inactivity.
The committee is a community-based gender organisation that complements the efforts of the Lagos State Government in promoting child healthcare, empowering women to discover and develop their potential, and supporting environmental protection initiatives.
The opening of the registration portal marks the commencement of preparations for the 26th National Women Conference, with participants expected to register through the committee’s official platform ahead of the October event.
