Nigerian singer Candy Bleakz has opened up about her sexuality, revealing that she identifies as demisexual.

The singer made the disclosure in a video shared online while speaking about some of the questions she regularly receives from people about her personal life.

According to Candy Bleakz, people are often intrigued when she tells them that she is demisexual.

“I also get a lot of questions around my sexuality and when I tell them I am demisexual, they are also intrigued. I don’t know why, can’t I be demisexual?” she said.

Demisexuality is generally described as a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum in which a person experiences sexual attraction only after developing a strong emotional connection with someone.

For a demisexual person, physical appearance or an immediate first impression may not necessarily trigger sexual attraction. Instead, attraction may develop gradually through emotional closeness, trust and a deeper personal connection.

Candy Bleakz’s disclosure has added a personal dimension to the singer’s growing public profile, as she becomes more open about aspects of her life beyond music.

The singer did not provide further details about her personal relationships or explain how her sexuality has affected her dating life.

Her comments have since generated reactions online, with social media users sharing different views about her disclosure.
