BREAKING: Nollywood Mourns as Veteran Yoruba Actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Dies

Veteran Nollywood Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died after battling stage-four cancer.

The actor’s death was announced on Sunday by his daughter, Kira Taiwo, during an Instagram Live session. Multiple Nigerian media outlets have also reported the development.

Ogogo’s reported death comes just days after his daughters, Lima and Kira, appealed for urgent medical assistance, revealing that the veteran actor was battling stage-four cancer.

The family had disclosed that his condition had deteriorated and that efforts were being made to find appropriate medical care for him. Kira had also appealed to medical professionals and facilities capable of treating her father to come forward.

Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, had also been acknowledged by Kira for providing financial support towards her father’s treatment during his illness.

Ogogo, 66, was one of the prominent figures in Yoruba-language cinema, with a career spanning more than four decades and appearances in hundreds of films.
