Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament: Rivers Angels thrash Fortress Ladies 4-0

Rivers Angels got to a flying start in the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) after thrashing Fortress Ladies 4-0.

The match was played at University of Benin Sport Complex, Edo State. Paulinus Ifeoma, Evelyn Nwabuoku, Kabwe Berita and Cecilia Nku all grabbed a goal each in the convincing victory.

Being the giant that they are in the game, Rivers Angels took the lead through Paulinus Ifeoma.

Six minutes later, Evelyn Ifeoma doubled Rivers Angels’ lead from the penalty spot by neatly scoring.

Fortress Ladies were no match for Rivers Angels as they were blown away in the first 45 minutes of play.

Kabwe Berita and Cecilia Nku grabbed the 3rd and 4th goal for Rivers Angels as they defeated Edo based team, Fortress Ladies.

In other matches of the day, Heartland Queens defeated Rolly Angels by a lone goal, while Confluence Queens played a barren draw with Bayelsa Queens.

Kaduna Queens match with Sunshine Queens was postponed due to the late arrival of Kaduna Queens.
