Awadawa Crew Marks Aroyewun’s First Year With 2,000-Notebook Educational Outreach

The Awadawa Crew has marked the first anniversary in office of the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, with an educational outreach that saw more than 2,000 notebooks distributed to students and children across the community.

Rather than limiting the anniversary celebration to ceremonies and recognition, the group chose to commemorate the milestone through an initiative focused on education, youth development and community service.

The notebooks were distributed to pupils and children in different parts of the community, with beneficiaries including students of Zumratul Junior School, AOSTEM and Oreyo Junior School, as well as children participating in various holiday coaching programmes.

Putting Learning Materials in Young Hands

For many students, having access to basic learning materials can make a meaningful difference in their daily educational experience.

The Awadawa Crew said the initiative was designed to support students with essential school materials while encouraging them to remain committed to their education and personal development.

The outreach also provided an opportunity for the group to place young people at the centre of the anniversary celebration.

Rather than celebrating leadership solely through speeches and political activities, the group sought to make the occasion directly beneficial to members of the community.
