Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has cancelled his scheduled concert at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The concert was billed for Sunday, September 6, 2026, as part of the singer’s ongoing “In God We Trust” tour.

An update on Asake’s official website confirmed the cancellation, although no reason was given for the decision.

Ticket holders have been assured of automatic refunds to the cards used to purchase their tickets.

A notification sent to ticket buyers stated that refunds would be processed within five business days, with an additional two to three days required for the funds to reflect in their accounts.

“Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. The Asake ‘In God We Trust’ show at The Greek Theatre on Sunday, September 6th, 2026 has been cancelled,” the notification read.

“You will receive a refund back to your card used for payment within 5 business days. Please allow a further 2-3 days for the refund to credit to your account. No action is required on your part.”

The cancellation has since generated reactions on social media, with speculation over what may have prompted the decision.

Some social media users have claimed that poor ticket sales were responsible for the cancellation, while others have disputed the claim, arguing that the concert was already close to selling out.

However, neither Asake nor his management has confirmed that ticket sales had anything to do with the cancellation.

The Los Angeles show was one of the stops on Asake’s 13-city “In God We Trust” tour, which began in July and is scheduled to cover several major cities across the United States, Canada and Europe.

Other cities on the tour itinerary include London, Paris, Atlanta, Toronto, Houston and Miami.

With the Los Angeles date now cancelled, fans will be watching for further communication from Asake’s team on the circumstances surrounding the decision and whether it will affect any of the remaining dates on the tour.
