ARPSSON Vows To End School Bullying

The Association of Retired Principals of Secondary Schools of Nigeria (ARPSSON), Epe Zone have vowed to end bullying in schools across Epe.
This was made known during the retired principals event tagged ‘Bullying and Hooliganism in Secondary Schools: Role of Parents, Teachers, and the Community to Stem the Tide,’ the gathering underscored the crucial role of various stakeholders in curbing this pervasive issue.
Distinguished guests included former Education District III Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olaniyi, former Permanent Secretary and the Erelu Oba of Epe Land, Chief Mrs. Iyabo Osifeso, Mr. Ajijedidun from Agbowa Community High School, Agbowa; and ANCOPSS Chairman, Mr. Akinrinmade
and his secretary, Mr. Aderohunmu.
During the event, Mr. Olaniyi conveyed a powerful message centered on unity and shared commitment. He highlighted the strength inherent in togetherness, encouraging the assembly to view the occasion not just as a year-end celebration but as a symbolic representation of their collective dedication to fostering positive change in the Epe community.
Chief Mrs. Iyabo Osifeso delivered a compelling message, shedding light on the paramount significance of establishing safer learning environments for the younger generation. “Creating safer learning environments is not just a responsibility for educational institutions but a collective duty for every member of our community. We must recognize that each person contributes to the overall well-being and growth of our younger generation. We must work together to ensure a nurturing atmosphere that fosters positive development and learning,” she added.
Mr. Akinrinmade, Chairman of the All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Epe Zone, expressed commendation to the Association of Retired Principals for their dedication to addressing issues such as bullying and hooliganism. His words underscored the importance of continued collaboration to ensure that educational institutions remain bastions of learning, free from negative influences.
Mr. Adeyemi O.S. stressed the critical role they play in reminding attendees of their responsibility to guide the educational landscape. He underscored the invaluable wealth of experience retired principals possess, emphasizing that addressing issues like bullying contributes to creating a more secure and nurturing environment for students.
Speaking on the unique position of retired principals in shaping educational policies, Mr. Adeyemi emphasized the importance of organizing events that address pressing issues like bullying. He expressed a commitment to leaving a positive legacy for future generations, showcasing the event as a demonstration of their dedication to making a lasting impact on the educational landscape.
