In a statement by his media aides, the late mother was described as a great warrior who fought to liberate her people.

The statement read: “Today remains a special day in Lagos and Oshodi particularly as we celebrate the commemoration of the continual existence but physical departure of our Precious, Golden mother, and Political gargantuan whose legacies continue to live.

“Truly, her departure from the mother earth created a vacuum that is yet to be filled and would still be difficult to be occupied due to the uniqueness and value embedded in her which had been of a great tremendous value-added to the growth and development of Oshodi and Lagos Progressive Politics at large.

“Alhaja Shakirat Modupeola Ariyoh though came to the world in a form of woman but every of her actions, deeds, behavior and impact resonated the great warrior that she was.

“She reflected the traits of Moremi of Ife and Amina of Zaria, who were known to be liberators and voice that shook the world.

“What more can be said than to keep rejoicing that she came, saw and conquered, and lived a worthy life that is serving as a model and inspiration to those near and far from her.

“The essence of life is not determined by how long we are going to live but for the indelible impact and legacy left behind which are monuments for immortalization.

“We rejoice today because our Golden Mother lives on with her name inscribed in Gold in our hearts.

“While we rejoice on her glorious departure, we still pray for the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss her departure has created.”
